About Me
Hi! My name is Laynah and this is my life. I'm the eldest daughter of a youngest daughter, was born in 1991, and the second half of my life started when I met and married the love of my life in 2012! I'm one of those girls who struggled with infertility, but got pregnant as soon as I started trying to adopt a baby. We went from 0-2 within 3 months so they're basically my little twins, and our family is complete with 2 boys. They are currently 7 and 8 and keep us on our toes!
I love baking (with and without sourdough), photography, nachos and dirty soda, children's books, hairless cats, and homeschooling, though we’re a public school family for now. We homeschooled for the first 3 years of my boys' education, and I think it gave them a solid extra foundation of play and connection. One of my boys wants to get back to homeschool ASAP, and the other is loving public school, so we’ll see where we land. Right now, we’re making a fresh start in the Southern Utah desert after homesteading for five years in Mississippi. It’s a long story...I’m sure I’ll tell it eventually. We’re still passionate about the homesteading lifestyle and hope to get some land again soon, but we don’t want to stay in Utah forever, so everything’s up in the air.
In my past lives I’ve been a CNA, office assistant, birth and wedding photographer, daycare worker, elementary school instructor, and now I create content for events and small businesses. I hope to get my degree in Elementary Education one day, but for now it keeps getting pushed to the back burner. I’d love nothing more than to own a micro school or start a fancy homeschool co-op, but I have no idea how that would actually work, so for now it’s just a dream. Right now, I’m focusing on growing my socials and content creation business and seeing where that path leads.
If you stick around you may come to notice that I'm not very good at conclusions, so I'll leave you with a few fast facts about myself:
My first concert was No Doubt, and yes, I still know every word to “Just a Girl.”
I’ve never been out of the country, not even to the non-contiguous states like Hawaii or Alaska.
I like Taylor Swift a medium amount.
I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS).
I read a history book to my boys every single night and we LOVE it.
I was born and raised in Southern California (so was my husband!), but we’ve also lived in Utah, Idaho, Texas, and Mississippi.
Thanks for stopping by - I'm so glad you're here!
